App Developer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated intermediate Mobile Developer to join our growing team and be at the ground level of a product that has the potential to be a global tool within the next 2 years.

We have a working app that is currently in the app store that needs some upgrades. Our app is a gps based audio tour app where audio files play on a users device when they reach pre determined gps coordinates. Our app is built on React Native using the MapBox API. Our app is currently live on iOS and will be also going to Android once some core features are addressed.

The position is HOURLY. A key requirement of the position is to track and communicate all hours worked and tasks that are being worked on. You will be overseen and assisted by our internal CTO.

Skills Required:
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
- Proficient using React Native
- Strong understanding of building back end infrastructure using PHP and Laravel.
- Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
- 2+ years of experience with the full mobile development process (coding, testing, submission, repeat)
- Extensive knowledge of mobile APIs, SDKs, and UI standards
- Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
- Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha
- Ability to perform rapid iterations on existing components and workflows based on user feedback
- A commitment to leaving code/processes/people better than when you got there
- Solution driven with strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a small team
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

Desirable Skills:
- Experience with location based technologies
- Experience with MapBox API
- Experience with map and routing APIs
- Design and UI experience
