Add Nearby Places Feature in Existing Real Estate Directory Site

Hi,
We have made a real estate directory site where we have about 150 listings.
Typically to do a nearby places section, the site's admin would gather every possible places in the country and categorize them in predefined categories within a radius to a listing. check attached.
However, we want to give more freedom to our sellers.
as such, each listing should be able to present their own set of nearby places that each seller deem as of crucial value.
So, in a listing, the seller should be able to 1st determine his anchor point (the location of his listing), this would be marked with a house symbol by default.
then, the seller should be able to add a category & select/upload a marker for it.
Once the category is created.
The seller will then go on to add markers to this category.
he can then go to the next category if he wants to and add more markers to the next category if needed.
as for the frontend, each marker in each category (when clicked) will link to anchor point and then show the distance/directions between anchor point & the nearby place which is clicked.
To add the markers, we should have a google map search. once the google map search helps us locate the location, we then place our marker on that point as anchor or nearby place.
I know google my map can do most of this.
but,
we are unsure of a few things,
1. google my maps doesn't consider any marker to be an anchor and then display only direction/distance between anchor other marker when clicked.
2. we are unsure how to display this category & list in frontend as per our design needs.
Currently, we use php, laravel & react for frontend.
Our site is still under development.
so, we will be working on this in a separate environment.
once fully tested and approved we will connect this feature to the actual site."
