i need a photoshop designer

Job ID: 33344416

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Step 1: Take on a Corporation - Identify a for-profit company that you wish manufactured their goods or conducted their services in a more "caring" way. What do I mean by "caring"? The "triple bottom line" business strategy is probably one of the most straightforward trending frameworks that place equal weight on profits and caring for the planet and people. Take a look at HBS' brief summary here (Links to an external site.). You can also revisit the slides from our intro lecture here. You can select an issue that may seem small (or even petty) at first glance, but your task is to explain its broader (or even global) impacts on social equity or the environment.

For example, my petty grievance is that Tatte up-charges lactose intolerant customers 18% on their drinks. Yes, I can just make my own latte or cough up the extra $0.75 for the luxury of made-to-order coffee. Yes, I am in an incredibly privileged position to even complain about the availability of oat milk. But my teeny-tiny "beef" with Tatte's milk options still questions their decision to value short-term profits over social and environmental sustainability. A liter of oat milk requires 48 liters of water to produce, versus 1,058 liters of water for cow milk. Each glass of oat milk produces less than 1/3 the carbon emissions produced by cow's milk. However, cow's milk is still cheaper to buy due to government subsidies (Climate and Society, Columbia University (Links to an external site.)). Lactose intolerance is most common among people whose ancestors resided in East Asia, West Africa, Southern Europe, the Americas (pre-colonization) and people with ancestors of Jewish descent (Cornell (Links to an external site.), Children's Hospital (Links to an external site.), Livestrong (Links to an external site.)). While it is unlikely that Tatte intends to discriminate, their pricing disproportionately disadvantages certain populations.

Step 2: Elaborate on your Beef/Brief

In +/- 300 words, explain the following

Briefly introduce your chosen "corporation": What services or products do they provide? Why are you still one of their consumers?
Tell us what you wish this company would change about their business practices.
Explore the counter-argument: In your opinion, why haven't they changed . What is the logic for maintaining the status quo? What are the drawbacks (economic, social or environmental) to your desired change?
Conclude with your reasoning for still demanding that they change.
Use in-text citations to credit your sources. Feel free to choose your preferred citation style. I tend to like MLA (Links to an external site.). But since this is not a formal research paper, I'm happy for you to simply hyperlink your in-text citations (as I've done above) instead of creating a works cited list at the end.
PART 2: SATIRICAL BRANDING
Step 3: Use photoshop to create a satirical advertisement for your chosen company. Pretend that they are announcing or marketing your proposed change by collaging stock photos, colors, icons and text that is relevant to the brand. You may also include your own artwork (drawing or painting, both digital and analog). Tap into your sense of humor to make your ad noticeable and compelling, and imagine a world where your fake advertisement either spurs the company to make a change or galvanizes enough support among consumers to pressure the company.

Do your best to create an ad that speaks for itself. However, if you feel the need for some additional explanation, you are welcome to write a few sentences about the design concept behind your ad.

Your poster should be designed to fit a standard letter page size (8.5x11in). We will have a short photoshop tutorial during Tuesday's virtual workshop.

Step 4: Credit your sources - Stock photos or icons from Boston's website are fair game. However, if you use the work of an artist in your poster, please credit them on the next page.
