Placing Product Image on PSD File and Exporting as PNG

Hello,
I have a PSD file, and I want to export the design in PNG format from this file. However, since a visual from an external source needs to be easily placed on top of the exported PNG file later, a structure should be created where the external visual can be added later.
Problem:
The external image in the PSD file is in an intermediate layer and is a smart object, which can easily be modified on the PSD.
The design needs to be exported as a PNG without the external image.
The external image should be easily added to the exported PNG file later.
Expectation:
The design in the PSD file should be exportable as PNG format without the external image.
It should be possible to easily add the external image to the PNG file. In other words, a suitable structure should be created so that the external image can be manually added to the exported PNG file.
Goal:
A structure that works like a mockup—by simply placing a new image on the bottom layer, I should be able to "dress" the product with the image.
