Freelance Digital Designer ( Remote)

We are currently looking for a creative thinker as a Digital Designer at Black Sun. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer to create, develop and deliver compelling creative digital solutions for our clients. This includes responding to creative briefs, developing creative ‘experience designs’ and maintaining the integrity of the work for our blue chip clients.
You will combine creative skills with technical know-how to develop high quality ‘experience designs’ for our digital solutions. You will have a good understanding of the digital creative process, and how to create best practice user experiences that will drive your creative thinking. Your attention to detail and quality standards will ensure that you are able to direct the development team in the successful realization of your designs.
Your key responsibilities include:
To liaise closely and directly with current BS clients, attending creative meetings throughout projects;
To develop and maintain formal and informal relationships with clients, instilling confidence and winning their trust and respect;
To work closely with the Creative Director and Account Directors to understand the creative strategy, commercial imperatives and context for your work;
To push and challenge the creative brief in order to produce outstanding digital concepts for our clients
To produce high quality experience designs that adhere to digital design and user experience best practice, that communicate the messages and content in a compelling way, and that are informed by knowledge of our technology. ;
To source quality imagery and to be able to both produce and supervise the production of quality assets
To ensure that all internal review and approval process are adhered to before presenting work to clients;
To demonstrate a commercial imperative and understanding of schedules, budgets and personal utilisation, be aware of budgets prior to work being carried out and alerting the Creative Director immediately if time allocated is not enough to complete designs;
To brief the Application Development team on programming requirements for each project and to continuously work closely with these teams to ensure that the integrity of the design is maintained;
When required, prepare for, and attend, new business presentations and pitches;
To evaluate new and alternative creative technologies to improve skills, increase productivity and reduce costs.

You reporting Relationships
You will be report to the Executive Creative Director and also be responsible to the Digital Project Managers and Head of Digital Delivery for the timely delivery of work to spec and schedule.
Your qualifications, experience & skills:
Degree level qualification from a reputable Art / Design college would be beneficial;
Ideally three to five years’ experience in digital communications and digital design;
Excellent knowledge and experience of digital channels, including microsites, email marketing and social media.
Be fully conversant with XD, Photoshop, and ideally Illustrator,;
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills necessary to present your solutions and to build trust and respect both with clients and the team; and
Excellent eye for detail, ambitious for the quality of your work, and a constant search for excellence.
