Create Detailed and Realistic Regional Fantasy Maps (Based on Existing World Map)
Description:
I'm an author seeking a skilled fantasy cartographer or illustrator to create a series of detailed regional maps based on an already-designed world map for my novel. The world is well-defined with existing political boundaries, geographic features, and lore. Your task would be to zoom in on specific regions and render clear, aesthetically consistent, believable, and lore-faithful maps.
Deliverables:
- 1 regional map to start (3–5 total likely)
- Style must align with the provided world map (or improved upon with your artistic input)
- Map must include realisic terrain (mountains, rivers, forests, coasts, etc.) settlements, roads, boarders, and other notable landmarks (ruins, shrines, forts, etc.)
- Optional: Names of locations (I will provide naming guides)
You Should Have:
- Experience in fantasy or RPG-style mapmaking
- Solid grasp of geographic realism
- The ability to work from reference maps, sketches, and written descriptions
- Please include the term "rubber duck" in your proposal to confirm you have read and understood the brief.
- Familiarity with tools like Wonderdraft, Photoshop, Inkarnate, or custom illustration
- Willingness to collaborate on lore consistency, as well as the ability to contribute your own creative ideas to the project
Bonus If You Can:
- Add visual/lore touches like heraldry, annotations, or border filigree
-Deliver layered PSD/vector/source files
