Retrieve Historical Document Scans in Delhi -- 2

Job ID: 40352833

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I have identified a set of Modern-period sources that are not yet digitised but are physically available in a handful of collections located in Delhi. To move my research forward I need a qualified scholar - someone who already holds a Master’s in History or a closely related discipline and can secure on-site scholar access—to obtain high-quality soft copies of those materials for me.

This is a very simple task. Budget is around 5k.
I'll cover any fee from the specific institution with regards to searching documents/digitising them.
Institute only allows access to scholars, provided you satisfy this one requirement - you can perform this.
One day of visit to the institute, you request soft copies and you are mostly sorted.

Scope of the hunt
You’ll be working across these repositories:
• University archives
• National libraries
• Historical societies

Within them, the targets are limited to:
• Manuscripts
• Photographs
• Letters

What I expect as deliverables
1. High-resolution PDF or TIFF files of every requested item, cropped and legible.
2. A brief metadata sheet (collection name, call number, short description, date, and any usage restrictions).
3. Confirmation that each image was captured with the institution’s permission so I can cite or reproduce it without issue.

Practical notes
– Most institutions allow personal photography or scanning once you register as a visiting scholar; your credentials should satisfy that requirement.
– I will supply exact shelf marks and any handling guidelines ahead of time.
– Turnaround is flexible, but please outline how soon you can schedule each visit and how you plan to transmit the files securely.

If you already frequent any of these collections or can gain swift access, I’d love to hear how you would tackle the job and an estimated timeline for completion.
