Isingiro District school, near Mbarara - School Photo & Video
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I am partnered with a rural school on the outskirts of Mbarara, Uganda (Isingiro) and we are preparing new promotional material for donors and our website. We need to collect vibrant visual content: sharp, well-composed photographs paired with short video pieces that capture everyday learning as well as the spirit of our community.
Scope of coverage
• Classrooms and other key facilities
• Genuine moments with students and staff, plus a few organised group portraits for formal use
• Ongoing activities—lessons in progress, break-time games, any special events happening while you are on site
• On-camera interviews with two or three teachers and several pupils (audio clarity is essential)
-we’d also like individual and group student photos for documentation purposes
Style
A balanced mix of candid documentary shots and lightly posed scenes works best; nothing overly staged, yet polished enough for brochures, the website and social channels.
Deliverables
• hi-res photos of students (JPEG)
• minimum 6 short video clips (30-60 s each) suitable for social media, colour-corrected and subtitled
• ideally we’d get separated audio-synced interview files and one compiled “highlight” reel (2–3 min)
• All original footage and project files transferred via cloud drive
Acceptance criteria
The final package should feel vibrant and authentic, show clear detail even in low-light classrooms, and tell a cohesive story of learning in a rural setting. Interviews must be audible over ambient noise.
Photo/video gear is up to you, though a DSLR or mirrorless camera with good low-light lenses, external mic and stabilisation will make the day smoother. Local familiarity with Mbarara or nearby areas is a plus for logistics.
Shoot dates are flexible, and would entail 1 full day on campus. Edited materials are expected within ten days of filming. Looking forward to seeing how you can bring our school’s story to life!
