About the Project
We are working in partnership with a leading global artificial intelligence (AI) research organization to support the development of a multilingual AI system. This system is designed to interpret and understand written content in real-world environments, helping power next-generation AI tools used in industries like translation, accessibility, and automation.
To achieve this, we are launching the German Language Image Collection Project, focused on gathering original, real-life images containing German-language text.
This is a remote, freelance opportunity for iPhone users currently living in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, offering flexible hours, simple tasks, and reliable compensation.
Scope of Work
Freelancers will be responsible for capturing high-resolution images that clearly feature German text found in real-world contexts. Examples include:
Street signs, store signs, billboards, and advertisements
Handwritten notes, reminders, calendars, or to-do lists
Restaurant menus, food packaging, and recipes
Business cards, brochures, flyers, and marketing material
Invitations, greeting cards, event posters, and labels
Product manuals, instruction guides, and printed digital displays
All images must be taken by you using your iPhone
No screenshots or internet-sourced images
Images must be well-lit, in focus, legible, and original
Duplicate, blurry, or AI-generated content will be rejected
Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
Own an iPhone (model after 2018)
Currently live in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland
Be able to identify and photograph content with visible German-language text
Have a basic understanding of how to take clear, well-composed images
Be detail-oriented and capable of following image guidelines
Compensation
$150 USD will be paid for every set of 500 approved image set
There is no limit to how many sets you can submit
Payments are processed after quality review by our QA team (usually within a week)
