US Forensic Photo Authenticity Expert

Job ID: 40357338

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

An upcoming legal case hinges on whether a collection of photographs is authentic. The court has asked for a definitive forensic analysis and in-person or remote testimony from a qualified specialist based in the United States.

Scope of work
The job involves a full authenticity audit of the images using recognised forensic image analysis tools (e.g., Amped Authenticate, Forensically, Izitru, or comparable suites). Your findings will form part of an expert report that complies with Federal Rules of Evidence and is ready to be entered as an exhibit. Once the report is complete, you will be expected to appear for deposition and, if required, provide live testimony explaining your methodology and conclusions in clear, layman-friendly language.

Deliverables
• Written expert report detailing methods, metadata findings, error level analysis, lighting/shadow consistency tests, and overall authenticity opinion
• All supporting work files and logs generated by the forensic tools used
• Signed chain-of-custody statement confirming secure handling of the source photographs
• Availability for deposition and trial testimony (virtual or on-site, dates to be confirmed)

Acceptance criteria
The report must withstand Daubert scrutiny, cite each analytical step, and reference the specific forensic tool versions employed. Conclusions must be stated to a reasonable degree of scientific certainty, ready for cross-examination.

Only experts currently residing in the U.S. with demonstrable courtroom experience in photographic authentication should respond.
