Canadian Drone Operations Technical Consultant

Consultant Expert in Drone Operations (Canada)
Project Description:
We are launching a Canada-based platform offering a wide range of drone services (photogrammetry, inspection, mapping, aerial photography, spraying, etc.) through a nationwide network of certified pilots. Our goal is to become the “Uber of Drones” by centralizing bookings, marketing, data processing, and reporting.
We are looking for a **technical consultant with proven expertise in the commercial use of drones in Canada**, who can assist in structuring, validating, and supporting the operational setup of our startup.
**Main Responsibilities:**
* Advise on the best practices and operational models for commercial drone services in Canada.
* Help identify and validate viable business use cases (roof inspections, agriculture, construction, energy, etc.).
* Assist in building partnerships and selecting appropriate drone technologies and equipment.
* Guide on regulatory and administrative compliance with **Transport Canada RPAS rules**.
* Propose technical workflows for mission planning, data collection, and processing.
* Contribute to the development of pilot recruitment criteria and quality control mechanisms.
* Support the design of client deliverables (inspection reports, mapping files, etc.).
* Provide strategic input during the launch phase.
### **Requirements:**
* Proven experience in drone operations in Canada (commercial and/or consulting roles).
* Excellent understanding of **Canadian legal, administrative, and regulatory framework** regarding RPAS.
* Mastery of drone-related tools: photogrammetry software (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Agisoft, etc.), GIS platforms, or data processing pipelines.
* Ability to work in **French** (spoken and written) – all communication and documentation will be in French.
* Previous work with startups or SaaS platforms (a plus).
### **Working Mode & Duration:**
* Part-time freelance mission over 2 to 3 months (renewable).
* Remote work, with regular online meetings.
* Possibility of longer-term involvement depending on fit and project evolution.
