Our priority is finding a reliable and precise photographer who can execute a detailed shot list and collaborate well with our client's staff on-site.

While we handle the overarching project management and post-processing, we need a talented local photographer to capture the raw, in-the-moment imagery that brings these venues to life. We have already shot over 50 venues across Europe and have extensive knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by theatre environments and their inherent limitations. We are definitely looking for a photographer who is a safe pair of hands, can follow our established style and instructions, and ensures a smooth, professional experience for the venue staff, as we only have one chance with this venue to get the photos.
Location: A specific theatre on Broadway, New York (exact address will be provided to the selected photographer).
Shoot Date/Time:
- The shoot will take place at night, on a date to be mutually agreed upon, to capture the evening ambiance and arrival of patrons, as well as moments during the performance and intermission. The entire shoot is expected to take four to five hours from start to finish, depending on the length of the show. Important to state here that we are not allowed to shoot any elements of the on stage production as we do not have the rights to this, we are only focussing on our venues and them being filled with people having a great time.
Creative Vision & Shot List (Key Deliverables)
The goal is to depict the theatre as a grand, bustling, and inviting space, from pre-show quiet to post-show applause.
Phase 1: Interior Shots (Empty Theatre - Pre-Arrival)
- Only wide, architectural shots of the theatre interior: Capture the grandeur, design, and details of the auditorium, lobby, and key public spaces before patrons arrive. These should convey the scale and beauty of the venue.
- Work Fast: Due to potential rehearsal schedules, the window for these shots may be limited, requiring swift and efficient execution.

Phase 2: Exterior & Interior Shots (Patron Arrival & Buzz)
- Exterior Arrival Shots: Capture a wide shot of the theatre's exterior at night with people going in. This photo must clearly showcase the theatre's location and exterior presence as best as it can, with the front lit up and dynamic shots of people arriving and the surrounding Broadway street scene. We want to convey the excitement and energy of Broadway.
- Interior Atmosphere Shots (with patrons): Once patrons are inside, capture wide shots of the interior spaces (e.g., lobby, grand staircases) to convey the energy, but without featuring anyone's faces too close up. We can provide examples of the desired framing.
- Staff Interaction Shots (Arrival): At this phase, capture candid "action shots" of theatre staff serving customers (e.g., at box office, bars, ice creams). These shots will present themselves as you move around the venue and you'll need to be fairly flexible here.
