Retouching & Preparing AI-Generated Children’s Book Illustrations
Project Overview
I am creating a children’s picture book titled about a moose. The story is written, and I already have AI-generated illustrations in JPEG format. However, these images need professional retouching to make them consistent, polished, and ready for print and digital publishing (hardcover + eBook).
What I Need
• Retouch 20-30 AI-generated illustrations so that:
• The main character (a moose) looks consistent across all pages (always with 3 antlers per horn, same body proportions, same fur style).
• Supporting animal characters (family of loons, bears, otters, etc.) remain uniform and cohesive in style.
• Colors, shading, and linework feel like one artist did the whole book.
• Deliver high-resolution print-ready files (300 DPI) for hardcover and paperback.
• Provide digital-ready files (RGB) for eBook publishing.
• Ensure proper formatting for Amazon KDP and/or IngramSpark (knowledge of trim, bleed, and safe zones is a plus).

• Digital Illustration & Retouching (Photoshop, Procreate, Illustrator, or equivalent).
• Children’s Book Illustration Experience – understands expressive characters and kid-friendly design.
• Print Publishing Knowledge – knows how to prepare files in CMYK, 300 DPI, and correct sizing for children’s books.
• Character Consistency Skills – ability to keep the moose and other characters looking uniform across multiple pages.
• Bonus: Familiarity with formatting books for KDP, IngramSpark, or similar self-publishing platforms.
