Create a script to play (mp3) audio /w meta data in Javascript
Budget: $10 – $60 USD
I have an existing PHP script for my radio station that streams audio and displays meta data like the artist name and song title. However, this script consumes a lot of server resources on my shared web hosting with cPanel. The goal of this project is to convert this script into a more efficient language, preferably Javascript or a lightweight alternative.
I have a icy (mp3 stream) audio script for my radio station. It plays audio on a page and has meta data it can pass like artist name and song name. This script was developed in PHP and runs on my shared web hosting on cpanel. The script uses alot of server resources / process because its made in PHP. The point of this project is to convert my script into Javascript or another code language that is faster and lightweight on server resources.
The script uses icy meta data and has a fixed static url for the mp3 stream @ https://mp3.eternityready.com/stream, i have a login page where i can change the dynamic radio stream url and then fixed url will play it.
The script is very small and does not use a database.
I WILL UPLOAD THE SMALL PHP SCRIPT IN A ZIP FILE. YOU MUST REQUEST IT FROM ME ON CHAT.
The new script must retain the following features:
- Streaming audio
- Displaying meta data (artist and song name)
- Being efficient with server resources
For efficiency, we are open to exploring:
- asynchronous processing,
- Web Audio api
- web sockets
I am open to using Javascript, Perl, or any other lightweight language that can achieve this. The ideal freelancer for this project should have:
- Extensive experience with both PHP and Javascript (or other lightweight languages)
- Knowledge of audio streaming scripts
- Ability to optimize code for server resource efficiency.
Please keep in mind the importance of retaining all current features of the script while improving its performance.

We have a deadline of 1 week.
4. Whats the tech stack or development language?
We want javascript or perl or cgi. We need something light weight for server resources and fast. We need fast processing for users and meta data like artist song and artist name. We prefer you make the script to work on shared hosting cpanel providers where ssh / command / root access is not needed to install node or other server side software, tho if you can not do this, we are open to vps.
