Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer (Onsite - 6+ months)
Budget: ₹75,000 – ₹150,000 INR
We are looking for a Senior Oracle Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience to join our team at our corporate office in Ahmedabad. This is a minimum 6-month contract role, with potential for extension based on project needs. Expected salary is 1,30,000/- per month.
Role Overview:
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading efforts to modernize and optimize the existing Oracle-based data layer of a Mutual Fund solution. This includes reviewing and enhancing legacy PL/SQL code, optimizing database performance, and aligning database components with evolving business and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze and reverse-engineer existing Oracle database components such as stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and materialized views.
* Lead the refactoring and rewriting of complex PL/SQL logic to improve performance, modularity, and readability.
* Conduct performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL routines using tools such as AWR, SQL Trace, and Explain Plan.
* Document existing and redesigned logic, process flows, and data structures aligned with mutual fund operations like NAV computation, investor transactions, compliance, and reporting.
* Ensure database object structures follow best practices and coding standards.
* Collaborate with architects and business analysts to align database changes with functional requirements.
* Support initiatives to modularize monolithic procedures into testable and scalable units.
* Provide code reviews and mentorship to junior developers.
* Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to support regression testing, UAT, and production releases.
Required Skills:
* 8+ years of proven Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
* Expertise in analyzing, rewriting, and optimizing legacy PL/SQL code.
* Strong experience with performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
* Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c/19c, SQL Developer, TOAD, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
* In-depth understanding of data modeling, database design, and schema normalization.
* Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git) and project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
* Domain knowledge in Mutual Fund / Asset Management data flows.
Nice to Have:
* Understanding of SEBI/AMFI regulatory requirements.
* Exposure to ETL processes, reporting tools, or data warehouse environments.
* Experience with Oracle APEX, REST APIs, or integrations with third-party systems.
* Cloud or hybrid architecture exposure involving Oracle databases.
Educational Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is a plus.
