SQL Server I/O Bottleneck Assessment

I’m running SQL Server 2022 Enterprise in a production environment and my error log is filling with messages such as
FlushCache: cleaned up 1 153 918 bufs with 102 676 writes in 68 446 ms (avoided 71 188 new dirty bufs) for db 5:0
The frequency and volume of these entries suggest aggressive checkpoint activity, heavy write I/O and, quite possibly, a buffer-pool or storage-tier mis-configuration. Before I change memory allocations, checkpoint settings or tempdb/file layout, I want a seasoned SQL Server performance specialist to step in.
What I need from you
• A concise root-cause report explaining why the excessive FlushCache events occur
• A wait-stats and I/O subsystem deep-dive, correlating waits, file stats and underlying storage performance
• Configuration recommendations covering memory, MAXDOP, checkpoint behavior, trace flags (if relevant), file sizing and tiering strategies
• A clear, ordered remediation plan that I can implement (or have you implement) with minimal production risk
Acceptance criteria
• Findings backed by DMVs, PerfMon counters or storage metrics captured during analysis
• Actionable recommendations with estimated benefit and required change window
• A follow-up Q&A session once I have reviewed your report
