Fix Slow WordPress Blog
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My WordPress site (running the Morden theme and hosting 100+ posts) has become painfully slow. I tried trimming the “Reading” setting down to 10 posts, but the blog page still loads every article and the speed barely changed. I’m not willing to risk a single paragraph of the content I’ve built over the years, yet I need the blog to feel snappy again.
Here’s what I know so far
• Theme: Morden, unchanged for years
• Plugins: honestly not sure which performance-focused ones are active... Jet Pack?
• DIY attempts: only minor setting tweaks—no code or database edits
What I need from you:
Decent written or spoken English.
I want you to do this work with me via Zoom.
First, you will make sure that the site is backed up before you do anything.
Work slowly and methodically, showing me what you are doing and why.
Implement best-practice speed optimizations (caching, image handling, query tuning, etc.) without deleting or altering content
Leave the front-end look intact, or explain clearly if a small visual tweak would unlock a big speed gain
Show me, in simple terms, the before-and-after metrics so I can see the improvement and maintain it going forward.
Success means my pages load quickly for visitors while every existing article, image, and category remains exactly where it belongs. If you can make that happen, let’s talk.
