Advanced Scala & Databricks Training
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need an intensive, advanced-level workshop for a very small team (1–5 engineers) that zeroes in on two areas: sophisticated Scala programming techniques and the art of optimizing Spark jobs on Databricks. We already build production pipelines every day, so the content must push beyond the basics—think type-safe design patterns, performance-oriented collections, Catalyst and Tungsten internals, shuffle reduction, cluster sizing, Delta Lake optimizations, and real-world troubleshooting inside the Databricks workspace.
The format I have in mind is live instructor-led sessions delivered via video conference, supported by interactive Databricks notebooks and slides we can keep for reference. One or two full-day workshops (or an equivalent series of shorter blocks) will work, as long as each module ends with hands-on labs and a brief Q&A so we leave every topic fully understood and applied.
Acceptance criteria:
• Agenda that covers advanced Scala and Spark-on-Databricks tuning in depth
• Reusable training assets: slide deck (PDF), notebooks, sample datasets, and all source code
• At least two live performance-tuning exercises in our own Databricks environment showing measurable speed-ups
• Session recordings enabled for later review
