External Network Penetration Testing jobs
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Title
Cybersecurity Specialist (Contract-Based, Ongoing Projects with Startup)
Project Description:
I am starting a cybersecurity service provider focused on small and medium businesses (SMEs). Our services include:
Entry-level packages (phishing simulations, basic audits, GDPR policies)
Advanced services (vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, dark web monitoring)
Ongoing subscriptions (quarterly audits, policy updates, awareness training)
I am looking for an experienced cybersecurity professional (or small team) to work with us on a project/contract basis. This is not a one-time job — it is an ongoing collaboration as we acquire SME clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform external penetration testing and vulnerability scans for SME clients.
Use industry-standard tools (e.g., Nessus Pro, Qualys, Burp Suite Pro, Kali Linux, OpenVAS, etc.).
Provide professional, client-ready reports that include:
Executive summary (plain English for non-technical SME owners).
Detailed technical findings with screenshots/tool output.
Risk ratings (critical/high/medium/low).
Clear remediation steps and best-practice recommendations.
Support phishing simulation campaigns (advice on setup, reviewing results).
Occasionally provide input for GDPR/security policy compliance templates.
Requirements:
Proven experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and reporting.
Ability to explain technical issues in clear, simple language.
Access to your own professional tools (e.g., Nessus Pro, Burp Suite Pro).
Reliability and willingness to work under NDA and contract agreements.
Preferably certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or CompTIA Security+ (not mandatory but valued).
Engagement Model:
Contract-based, project-by-project work.
Paid per project (e.g., external pen test, vulnerability scan) with potential for monthly retainer work as we grow.
Long-term relationship preferred — you will effectively be a trusted technical partner for our startup.
Deliverables per Project:
Penetration test/vulnerability scan results.
Executive summary report for SME clients.
Technical appendix with detailed findings.
Recommendations for remediation.
How to Apply:
Please include in your proposal:
Your relevant experience and certifications.
Tools/software you use for testing and reporting.
Example (redacted) reports you have produced for clients.
Your typical pricing structure per external pen test/vulnerability assessment.
