pcb design for ebike security
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
Key Modules on the PCB (On-board):
1. ESP32 or ESP8266 – Main microcontroller with WiFi + Bluetooth (programmed via USB).
2. SIM800C – GSM module for sending alerts and location via SMS or internet.
3. MPU-6050 or MPU-6000 – Motion sensor for detecting unauthorized movement.
4. ICL7660 or Equivalent – Voltage converter to generate negative voltage if needed.
5. MOSFET (N-channel) – For switching power to motor controller or other peripherals.
6. LEDs – For status indicators (power, network, motion).
7. Voltage regulators (e.g., AMS1117-3.3) – To step down 5V or battery voltage to 3.3V.
8. NFC Module Header (External module via connector) – For key/card authentication.
Connectors Required:
Power & Battery:
1. 1x 2-pin connector for e-bike main battery input (36–48V)
2. 1x 2-pin connector for internal Li-ion backup battery (optional)
Sensor & Actuation:
1. 1x 4-pin JST or Molex for external NFC module
2. 1x 4-pin connector for the motion sensor (MPU6050 if externally mounted)
3. 1x 2-pin or 3-pin output to control motor cut-off or alarm via MOSFET
4. 1x USB-to-UART header for ESP programming/debugging (can be micro USB port or standard UART pins)
Optional:
1. 1x I2C/Serial header for future expansion
Test pads for major voltage rails and communication lines (VCC, GND, TX, RX, etc.)
PCB Design Requirements:
1. Compact size to fit into e-bike body or controller housing
2. Proper power rail separation and filtering (GSM and ESP must be noise-isolated)
1. All external connectors should be on one edge if possible
2. Mounting holes for enclosure
3. 2-layer preferred, 4-layer if necessary for EMI/RF performance
4. Use industry-standard footprints (0603 or 0805 SMD components)
