Small PCB Re-Design - AUTO PUMP v2.01

Job ID: 33681153

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

We have a small 2in x 2in PCB design that requires a couple of minor modifications.

The EE we were working with was located in the Ukraine and is currently unavailable although we need to make some quick changes to the board design. We should be able to provide any information required for the redesign.

Tasks to perform
1. On the attached schematic (AUTOPUMP_v2.00.pdf), Schottky Diodes "D1" and "D2" are called out as SS34. We discovered during manufacturing the padding area for the SS34's is to small and the identified locations for them may not be big enough to fit them. We tested the board design with an axial version (SB340E) of the diode and verified the board worked as designed. The problem is the engineer had shown a photo of the board in the design software and the diodes shown in the photo fit in the identified location (see attached picture D1_D2.jpg). This leaves us wondering if the SS34 was not the correct size diode and a smaller diode can be used or if the ss34 is correct and the board layout needs to be modified. We need to determine if the SS34 is the required diode size and if so resize the padding/board layout as needed or help spec the proper diode that will fit on the existing padding. For reference we attached the SS34 size specifications if it is needed.

2. We will be adding standoffs to the PCB and have chosen the standoffs shown in the attached photos (Standoff.jpg and Standoff2.jpg). We need the mounting holes properly sized to fit the identified standoff.

3. We need to add component(s) to the board design to protect from accidental reverse polarity on the Power Input. This is to keep the board safe if incorrectly wired when connecting it to the power source.

4. We will need to update some of the labels on the board.

We would prefer to keep the overall board size and the mounting hole locations as they are although if more room is required to accommodate items 1 and 3 we can potentially make it longer although the standoff locations must remain unchanged. This can de discussed in detail if resizing is required.

We can provide the Gerber files and supporting documentation although we do not have the original design files. We believe the original design was done in Altium.

The EE we are looking for must be able to communicate and be fluent in written English, the EE will also need to be open to providing ideas and suggestions and work with us quickly to complete this project quickly. Please feel free to ask any questions.
