Pocket-Friendly Bluetooth Amplifier PCB Design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
? Finalizing the PCB Design & Order for my Stealth Bone Conduction Bluetooth Device
? Project Name:
Stealth Bone Conduction Bluetooth PCB – CSR8645 & Amplifier Integrated
1️⃣ Overview
Goal: A compact Bluetooth PCB that:
• Receives Bluetooth audio & phone calls.
• Amplifies sound to an 8Ω / 1W bone conduction transducer (to be placed behind the ear).
• Powered by a 5V USB power bank (Micro USB or USB-C).
• Discreet design for hidden use in pockets, with a wired transducer behind the ear.
2️⃣ Functional Requirements
✅ Bluetooth Module
• Must support HFP/HSP (calls) + A2DP (music).
• Preferred Chipset: CSR8645, QCC300x, or similar.
• Pre-flashed firmware should support hands-free mode.
✅ Amplifier
• Integrated Class-D amplifier (1W-2W output @ 8Ω).
• If using a stereo amp, only one channel is needed for the single transducer.
✅ Power Requirements
• Operates from 5V USB input (via Micro USB or USB-C).
• If the Bluetooth module requires 3.3V, include an onboard voltage regulator.
✅ Bone Conduction Transducer Interface
• 2-pin connector or labeled pads (SPK+ / SPK–) for 8Ω, 1W transducer.
• The transducer wire should be long enough to reach the user’s ear from a pocket.
✅ Microphone (Optional for Calls)
• If included:
o Onboard mic near PCB edge OR
o 2-pin/3-pin mic header for an external microphone.
✅ Buttons & Controls (Optional)
• Keep it minimal, as most controls will be from the phone.
✅ LED Indicators (Optional)
• One LED for power & Bluetooth pairing status.
✅ Antenna Considerations
• Ensure good PCB antenna placement for strong Bluetooth signal.
✅ Enclosure & Mounting
• Board should be compact and pocket-friendly.
• Mounting holes only if necessary.
3️⃣ PCB Electrical & Design Considerations
✅ Block Diagram:
5V Power (USB) → Bluetooth SoC (CSR8645/QCC) → Class-D Amp → Transducer Output
(Optional: Mic → Bluetooth SoC → Phone for calls)
✅ Power Handling & Filtering
• Decoupling capacitors for Bluetooth module & amplifier stability.
• Optional LC filter for cleaner Class-D output.
✅ Connector Choices
• USB Input: Micro USB / USB-C.
• Transducer Output: 2-pin JST-BEC, JST-XH, screw terminal, or solder pads.
• Microphone: Onboard or small header for external mic.
✅ Firmware / Programming
• CSR8645 should be pre-configured for HFP/HSP + A2DP.
4️⃣ Bill of Materials (BOM)
✅ Bluetooth Chip/Module: CSR8645 or QCC series
✅ Amplifier IC: PAM8403, PAM8302, or built-in amp in CSR8645 module
✅ Power Regulator: Step-down 5V to 3.3V (if needed)
✅ USB Connector: Micro USB / USB-C
✅ Misc. Passive Components: Resistors, capacitors, inductors, EMI filters
5️⃣ Assembly & Testing
✅ Deliverables
• PCB Fabrication (Gerber, BOM)
• (Optional) Pre-assembled PCB with components soldered
• Tested to verify:
o Bluetooth connectivity
o Call & music playback through the transducer
o Mic input (if included)
? Final Submission Notes
1. Use an off-the-shelf CSR8645 or QCC module to avoid complex programming.
2. Ensure compact design (must fit inside a pocket).
3. The final output should allow a person to take calls discreetly via a bone conduction transducer behind the ear, connected via wire to the pocketed Bluetooth amplifier.
