PCB Design Update
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Redesign of a existing passive design human presence detector switch to operate a 12VDC/3W/0.5A fan with rotation failure alarm and 12VDC power source.
Basic Components

1) PIR
2) 3W Operating LED
3) PCB mounted push Button for toggle ON/OFF
- Top Side
4) 2 pin JST ZH female connector (+ -) for 12VDC Power Supply
5) 3 pin JST ZH female connector (+ - RD) for 12V/3W brushless Fan (adjacent to (4) )
3) 50db Piezo Buzzer for fan failure alert
4) Potentiometers for adjusting sensitivity and range of PIR (1)
5) 15min Relay for maintaining fan ON
Functional Requirements
-----------------------
1) When Power Switch is toggle OFF and there is movement in front of the PIR
Then Operating LED is OFF AND fan does not rotate.
2) When Power Switch is toggle ON and there is one movement in front of the PIR
Then Operating LED is ON AND fan rotates for 15 minutes.
3) When fan is rotating because of scenario (2) for less than 15 minutes and there is another movement in front of the PIR
Then Operating LED is ON and fan rotates for 15 minutes from this last detected movement.
4) When Power Switch in toggle ON and there is movement in front of the PIR but fan fails to rotate
Then LED flashes until Power Switch is toggle OFF
AND Buzzer sounds intermittent "Beep" sound until Power Switch is toggle OFF
Non Functional Requirements

1) PCB Dimensions: 54x42mm with 8mm clearing
2) All components must be currently in stock from online supplier such as JLCPCB
3) Conform with Minimum Fabrication Requirements
4) Penalized to 200x200mm limit with rails having 8mm
Deliverables
------------
1) Design files to include: Gerber, BOM, CPL and 3D files
2) Video demonstration of functional requirements on breadboard using centrifugal fan fitted with RD wire and 12V power Supply. To demonstrate fan rotation failure, the fan impeller must be stopped from spring manually
