Expand existing PCB design (add touch display) (Kicad)

Job ID: 32365973

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Expand existing PCB design (add touch display) (Kicad)
Review and possible redesign of existing circuit designs (CE/FCC/? certification preparation)
Assist in ordering final product in China (PCB + Assembly)
No software development
Need to implement asap

Requirements to the developer
Experience with ESP32 WROOM
Knowledge of Touch Display integration (8 bit parallel)
The developer will need to know what pins of an ESP32 WROOM can be used for specific purposes. It is not an option to redesign the PCB after a batch has been produced. We will need to optimally use all ESP32 pins
Knowledge of requirements to certifications (CE, FCC, …) is needed to ensure a redesign is not needed when certification processes are started
Experience with Kicad
Optional: Knowledge of manufacturing sites (mainly China)

Background
An existing PCB has been made and this needs to be expanded to include touch display feature. The touch display model is known (dimensions + connector)
The existing PCB has been revised (version 2) but not manufactured. These changes need to be implemented.
Kicad designs exist for the 2 designs to be merged. This is the basis for modifications.
The existing design needs to be redesigned regarding pin use to allow the touch display functionality
Identification of ESP32 pins that are available for future use and design pcb so these pins can be used in future expansion of functionality
No programming needed (only circuit design + PCB design)

We need help with:
Merging of two existing PCB designs + add touch display connector and rework existing connectors so that a touch display can be used
Map usage of ESP32 pins in existing design to new design and create overview of what pins are used for what (needs to be documented)
Ensure existing designs follow best practices
Input on what connectors to use (best practice): 5V DC, MODBUS RTU, cabel between the control and the sensor PCB, programming interface ESP32, breakout of not used IO pins
Input on what needs to be done to ensure e.g. EU/CE, FCC etc conformity
Document solution
Set up prototype production with PCBway China and provide all relevant documents and information
Validation of power supply requirement (Watt)

Milestones
First milestone (30%) when a small sample batch from e.g. PCBway has been ordered and the order is delivered within the agreed upon deadline (approximately one week from project start)
Any delay on our side will extend the deadline accordingly
Second milestone (70%) when assembled PCBs are tested and found error free
Second milestone will not be paid if changes to the circuit design or PCB design are needed - assuming the error(s) result in a need to do a second test batch.
The reason for this is we need to do this fast - and we do not have time to do more than one test batch.
