Design two PCBs based on a biological research paper, prototype
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a skilled PCB designer who can create two PCBs based on a biological research paper. The desired size of the PCB should be medium, between 2-5 square inches.
Since I do not have specific components in mind, I would need suggestions from the designer. They should be able to recommend suitable components for the PCB design.
The required level of prototype functionality is just to demonstrate the concept. The PCBs should be able to showcase the idea behind the research paper.
I would like to have two things designed that are based on the paper that you will find attached.
1) A "needle" array in a hexagonal pattern as described in the paper. The difference to the paper would be that the needles need to be a standard, gold coated, round contact pin of appropriate length. Ideally a cheap part available in large quantities. The needle array must be divided into 3 electrical subsets as described. The array must fit into one well of a multi-well cell culture plate. The dimensions are shown in the attached file.
The array will be used in exactly the same manner as in the paper, to electroporate cells. The PCB would sit on top of the well of the plate and the gold pins sticking down into the liquid. The pins will need to get to within 0.5 mm of the well bottom or can touch the bottom.
2) The electroporator will produce square wave pulses of up to 1000 V. The paper vaguely describes a circuit sitting between the +/- output of the electroporator and the needle array with 3 sets of pins to switch polarity from 1/2 to 1/3 to 2/3 and so forth.
3) I need a prototype board manufactured.
The board would be a disposable component. Manufacture must be automatable.
