Cost-Reduction and Modifications in Small PCB

Job ID: 37625516

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm looking for someone with thorough knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and materials costs. I aim to make cost-effective changes to my existing project without compromising on its performance and reliability.

current design was costing 12$ per board, we want to bring it down to 7-8$ ideally.

The specifics include:
- convert 4 layer to 2 layer : convert current 4 layer design to 2 layer design to reduce cost
- Component reduction: You should be able to help me identify substitute components that perform identically or better at a lower price.
- PCB size modification: I'm willing to change the PCB a bit to properly fit the casing, current design is too small for the box.
- add USB to design : add a USB for programming in new design , current design has header pins
- Material cost reduction: Can we switch to cheaper materials that still meet our needs?

As for the design, it's fair to call it moderate - it's double-sided. I'm not looking for a complete reworking of the design, but rather intelligent tweaks that can create savings.

Ideal skills for this project include strong knowledge of electronic components, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), cost analysis, and reverse engineering. Being CIDE (Certified Interconnect Designer) or CID (Certified Interconnect Designer) certified would be nice, but not a must.
