DJ Controller Production Optimization

Job ID: 39263853

Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR

I’m developing a DJ controller designed primarily from aluminum with high-end aesthetics. The 3D model is ready, and I’ve prepared a detailed PDF outlining the manufacturing vision. I need experienced engineers to help optimize the design for production.

1. Mechanical Engineering (DFM – Design for Manufacturing)
Optimize the aluminum sheet metal design (cutting & bending, NOT CNC or die-casting).

Ensure no visible screws by using blind rivet nuts or other attachment solutions.

Provide guidance on cost-effective metal finishes (patina, anodized, powder coating, etc.).

Ensure a seamless assembly of the frame and laser-cut aluminum top plates.

Create technical drawings and BOM for production.

2. Electronics Engineering (PCB & MIDI Integration)
Design the PCB layout for MIDI integration, ensuring compatibility with Rekordbox.

Optimize the layout for off-the-shelf components, including:

Sliders, potentiometers, rotary encoders, toggle switches

LEDs, brushless motors, capacitive touch jogwheels

USB-C, XLR, AUX, and power connectors

Provide Gerber files, schematics, and BOM for production.

Requirements:
✅ Experience in MIDI controllers, DJ gear, or audio hardware
✅ Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing (bending, laser cutting, rivet nuts, etc.)
✅ Proficiency in Altium, KiCad, or Eagle for PCB design
✅ Understanding of USB MIDI communication & capacitive touch sensors (preferred)

Nice to Have:
Prior experience with Rekordbox-compatible hardware

Experience with engraved and colored labeling on aluminum

Deliverables:
? Finalized 3D CAD files (mechanical)
? DFM report & manufacturing-ready drawings
? PCB schematics, Gerber files, and BOM
? Prototype-ready files for production

Budget & Timeline:
Open to fixed-price or hourly rates

Goal: Complete DFM & PCB design within 4-6 weeks

If you have experience in DJ/MIDI hardware, please send:

✅ Your process for making designs cost-effective

Looking forward to collaborating!
