Compact Smartwatch PCB Design & Prototyping

Job ID: 39555968

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

Design and Prototype a Compact Wearable Smartwatch PCB (BLE, Sensors, Charging)

We are looking for an experienced hardware design engineer or embedded system developer to help us design and prototype a compact wearable smartwatch PCB for real-time physiological data collection, wireless communication, and onboard data storage.

You will be working from an existing schematic (partially ready but need modification and will be provided as a PDF from Altium Designer) and are expected to optimize, design, and deliver a production-ready device (prototype) as well as deliver Schematic/PCB layout, bill of materials, and firmware.

Scope of Work:
Schematic Review & Optimization
Analyze the provided schematic for completeness, efficiency, and best practices
Recommend improvements to power routing, signal isolation, and component selection

PCB Design

Create a compact, wearable-friendly board layout (preferably 4-layer)
Ensure proper RF design for Bluetooth (impedance matching, antenna layout)
Design for low noise in analog signal paths (EDA, PPG)
Include test points, USB-C interface, and programming/debugging access
BoM Finalization
Confirm part availability through major suppliers (DigiKey, Mouser, LCSC)
Suggest replacements if parts are obsolete or have long lead times

Deliverables
. Full PCB design source files (only Altium Designer is accepted)
. Gerber files, BoM, and pick-and-place file
.Full firmware for sensor data storage, communication (with PC) and BLE
. Power tree diagram, block diagram, and documentation
Optional but Preferred
. 3D enclosure support (mechanical integration)
. Pre-compliance design tips for FCC/EMC

Key Technologies and Components:
