Assistance with 8th order Butterworth notch filter circuit
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I implemented a guitar stomp box circuit several years ago. It eliminates 50-60Hz hum for single-coil guitar pick-ups. I implemented and simulated this circuit in LTSpice. I then had a design shop convert the Spice circuit to Altium for fabrication and assembly. I recently had a prototype built from the Altium files. It does not work properly. It was not assembled at an assembly house; it was done by hand. The circuit isn't working properly. Is the circuit incorrect or did we botch the hand assembly?
Project:
1. Compare the Spice source code with the Altium schematic. Is the translation faithful? There are 20 op-amps and almost 100 caps and resistors. I checked the translation 3 times. I *think* it is clean, but I could be wrong. If there is a translation error(s) please identify it/them.
2. Please review the corrected circuit. Can it be optimized for BOM cost? I used a notch filter. Should I have used an HPF? Can the circuit be improved?
3. Based on (1) and (2), please update the Altium design and generate the fabrication and assembly files for the project.
I designed this circuit when I could see. I am now blind and can't take the project any further.
You will need access to Altium and Spice for this project.
