LoRaWAN Magnetic Temperature Humidity Sensor

Job ID: 39974831

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

1. General Objective

To design, verify, and develop a functional prototype of a low-power, autonomous LoRaWAN sensor that integrates temperature, humidity, and magnetic detection measurements, powered by an ER14505 battery, ensuring the correct operation of the hardware for integration with the firmware provided by the client.

2. Specific Objectives

To review and validate the electrical schematic developed in KiCad, guaranteeing its correct operation, electrical integrity, and compatibility with the firmware.

To design and optimize the printed circuit board (PCB) meeting criteria for low power consumption, compactness, and manufacturability.

To prepare a fully assembled functional prototype for field testing and electrical validation.

To deliver all technical documentation associated with the design.

3. Detailed Technical Scope

3.1 Schematic Review

Complete review of the schematic developed in KiCad.

Validation of connections, pin assignments, and compatibility between modules.

Verification of voltage levels, currents, and input/output protection.

Confirmation of the correct use of component part numbers and footprints according to the Bill of Materials (BOM).

Suggestion of design improvements focused on low power consumption and robustness.

Validation of the ER14505 battery connection (3.6 V Li-SOCl₂) with protection and standby current draw <10 µA.

3.2 PCB Design

Design of the PCB in KiCad (1 or 2 layers, depending on the circuit requirements).

Optimized component layout to minimize interference and electrical noise.

Implementation of ground planes, filtering of sensitive signals (analog sensors), and differential routing if applicable.

Sizing and placement of the connector or pads for programming, testing, and battery.

Review of design rules (DRC/ERC).

Generation of Gerber files, updated BOM, and pick-and-place list for manufacturing.

3.3 Functional Prototyping

Manufacturing and assembly of one (1) or more prototype boards (PCBWAY or JLCPCB may be used).

Verification of continuity, reference voltages, and basic sensor functionality.

Delivery of an electrical validation report (firmware not included).

Testing with the ER14505 battery under real-world operation.

4. Deliverables
