SSL Duality Main Section Schematic

Job ID: 40061056

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am piecing together a stripped-down console for studio recording and only need the heart of the desk: the master section of an SSL Duality (or a very close equivalent). I do not want summing amps, EQ, preamps, compressors or any other channel circuitry—just the section that gives the mixer its wide, airy sound and the linear power supply that feeds it.

The master fader is the single control that must remain. Channel faders and pan controls are unnecessary unless you feel they are critical for stability; if so, please flag that and suggest the simplest way to keep or emulate them.

I have not fixed the rail voltages yet, so feel free to design around ±16 V, ±18 V or ±24 V and specify which range you have optimised for. I can adapt my transformer choice once I see the schematic and parts list.

Deliverables should arrive ready for practical build:

• Complete, clearly annotated schematic of the master section and PSU
• Full BOM with component values and preferred part numbers
• Brief notes on expected headroom, noise floor and any calibration steps
• (Optional but appreciated) PCB or Gerber files if you already have a proven layout

Keep the design faithful to the SSL topology where it matters for tone, but please avoid proprietary part numbers that cannot be sourced. If you have questions about format or additional documentation, let me know early so we can lock it down before you draw.
