40-Pin Laptop LCD Controller
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I am developing a new 40-pin controller board for an in-cell touch laptop display and need a turnkey, production-ready design. An image of a similar commercial board is attached strictly for visual context; I do not own that design or its schematics.
The board must run from a single 12 V supply and reliably drive Full-HD and 2K panels—4K support is highly desirable if you can integrate it without compromising cost or availability. You are free to choose whichever microcontroller, processor, scaler or companion ICs best meet these goals, provided they are readily sourceable and have a clear longevity roadmap.
Deliverables
• Complete schematic and annotated PCB layout files (Altium, KiCad, or equivalent)
• Fabrication outputs: Gerbers, drill files, assembly drawings, stack-up, impedance notes
• Fully commented firmware source, compiled binaries, and flashing procedure
• Production-grade Bill of Materials with manufacturer part numbers and second-source options
• Basic functional test firmware/scripts and a concise test plan proving video, touch, backlight and power-rail stability at each supported resolution
• Any necessary Windows or Linux drivers/utilities
• Final design dossier (PDF) that a contract manufacturer can use unchanged
