Multi-Band ELRS Receiver Designs
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I need three separate ExpressLRS receiver hardware designs for drone control, each centred on an ESP8266 and optimised for long-range links. The variants are:
• a 900 MHz model
• a 2.4 GHz model
• a Gemini-compatible unit 900Mhz Range and 2.4Ghz dual band
For each version, I expect a production-ready schematic, a clean PCB layout, and a complete BOM with manufacturer part numbers. Please pay close attention to RF front-end filtering, matching networks, and any layout considerations that will maximise link budget at these two bands. Current draw matters, but link reliability and range come first.
Deliverables
• Schematics (KiCad)
• Fabrication-ready PCB files (Gerber/ODB++ plus drill, pick-and-place)
• Annotated BOM with alternates where supply may be tight
• Brief design notes that cover component choices, expected RF performance, and test points for tuning
Acceptance
A design will be accepted once it compiles against the current ExpressLRS target, meets the documented pinout, and shows simulated link budgets that match typical long-range drone requirements.
