Women’s Seated Riding Pants Development
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I am developing a pair of women’s performance riding pants that must sit perfectly while the wearer is in a sustained seated position. The success of this project hinges on engineered panel geometry that actively prevents fabric creep along the inner leg; every seam, grainline and stretch orientation needs to work toward that single goal.
Key requirements
• Fabric: I’ve chosen a quality 2-way stretch; your pattern work must account for its directional give, recovery and load distribution.
• Inner-leg solution: geometry, not added bulk, should stop the fabric from drifting or twisting during long rides.
• Construction knowledge: please apply load-bearing seam placements and finishing techniques suited to technical stretch fabrics rather than traditional dressmaking.
• Output: a production-ready digital pattern (DXF or compatible), graded size set, concise sewing spec with stitch types/tensions, and a brief rationale explaining how the pattern eliminates creep.
Acceptance test
A correctly sewn sample must hold position after a continuous two-hour seated ride with zero inner-leg creep.
If remote collaboration is comfortable for you and you have a proven track record in performance wear or cycling/equestrian apparel, let’s talk specifics and timelines.
