Junior Formal Dress Patternmaker Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m building a fresh line of junior-sized, contemporary social gowns and I need a freelance patternmaker who can translate my sketches into production-ready patterns. Every dress in this collection is formal, and the look I’m after leans on statement-making silhouettes and fine, intricate detailing. Think bold shapes, clean lines around the bodice, and unexpected cut-outs or drapes that still feel refined enough for a black-tie event.
Most samples will be cut in mesh, so experience balancing stretch recovery, seam placement, and support structure in this fabric is essential. If you’ve previously engineered patterns for tulle, chiffon, or lace that could be a plus, but mesh handling is my priority.
To keep things moving, I’ll provide tech sketches and inspiration references for each style along with target measurements. I’ll need you to:
• Draft the base pattern in my size set,
• Supply digital files (PDF and DXF) ready for marker making and cutting
• Include a concise spec sheet noting seam allowances, notches, grain lines, and construction suggestions
A short round of revisions is expected so we can nail fit and silhouette before sampling. If this sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s talk timelines and your typical turnaround per style.
