Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Freelance Pattern Designer + Sizing/Fit Specialist Needed for Women’s Activewear Brand

I am looking for an experienced pattern designer and sizing/fit specialist to help develop the first collection for my women’s activewear brand, CORE FORM.

CORE FORM is an activewear brand built for real movement, with a focus on supportive, flattering, functional pieces for athletes and active women. The first collection includes a sports bra, high-waisted shorts, and a fitted performance tank.

What I Need Help With

I am looking for someone who can help with:

Pattern Design

* Create professional production-ready patterns for activewear pieces
* Work from existing tech packs, sketches, reference photos, and design notes
* Develop patterns suitable for stretch activewear fabrics
* Make sure construction supports movement, compression, and comfort
* Help refine details like seams, waistbands, straps, bra support, and fit

Sizing + Fit Development

* Create or review size charts for the collection
* Help with grading across sizes
* Support bra sizing development, ideally band/cup sizing
* Make sure the fit works for different body types, especially larger chest sizes
* Recommend sample sizes for fit testing
* Help with fit comments after samples are made

First Collection Pieces

1. Sports Bra
* Band/cup sizing preferred
* Supportive for running, lifting, and training
* Adjustable criss-cross back straps
* Removable padding
* Secure underband
* Designed for larger-chested athletes
2. High-Waisted Shorts
* 4-inch inseam
* No front seam
* V-back seam
* Supportive waistband
* Squat-proof fit
* Comfortable for training and movement
3. Fitted Performance Tank
* Fitted activewear tank
* Supportive and flattering
* Meant to match the sports bra and shorts

Ideal Experience

The ideal freelancer has experience with:

* Women’s activewear
* Sports bras
* Stretch fabrics such as nylon/spandex
* Compression garments
* Pattern making and grading
* Size chart development
* Fit testing and fit corrections
* Band/cup bra sizing, especially larger cup sizes, is a huge plus

Fabric Direction

The collection will likely use a premium nylon/spandex blend, around 75–80% nylon and 20–25% spandex, with a supportive but soft feel. Experience designing patterns for stretch, compression, and recovery fabrics is important.

What I Will Provide

I can provide:

* Tech packs
* Design sketches
* Reference images
* Brand direction
* Measurement goals
* Fabric direction
* Fit notes
* Sample feedback once samples are made

Deliverables Needed

Please include which of these you can provide:

* Digital patterns
* Graded patterns
* Spec sheets
* Size charts
* Fit comments
* Pattern corrections after sampling
* Factory-ready files
* Advice on sample sizing and fit testing

Project Goal

The goal is to create patterns and sizing that are ready for sampling and eventually production. I want the pieces to feel supportive, flattering, and functional — not just cute on a model, but actually made to move in.

To Apply

Please send:

* Examples of activewear or sports bra projects you have worked on
* Your experience with stretch fabric and grading
* Whether you have experience with band/cup sizing
* Your rate or project pricing
* Estimated timeline
* What files/deliverables you provide
* Whether you can help with sample fit feedback and revisions

Looking for someone who understands both the technical side of activewear and the importance of fit for real athletes.
