Grant Research, Grant Writing and Grant Funding for a Wood Sawmill, Building and Equipment
Budget: $10 – $20 NZD
To establish a working sawmill in a small community to manufacture housing structure materials with a high insulating value. As well, work with local partners to strengthen connections between the State's Managed Forest Resources and it's Artisan Network, enhancing the local wood processing capacity.
It would be used for milling lumber from naturally selected wood timber in our local and surrounding forests. That to help with burn control, clearing dead and diseased timber and natural reforestation. We would also provide artisan materials for both local and state funded projects, as well as donate sawdust and 2nd grade / off-grade materials to locals in need and to help with community project building.
This grant would provide us the opportunity to grow as both be an effective community based company but also with using select wood timber that would otherwise just be burned or disposed of in landfills.
With the building we would also be able to process wood sawdust into pellet form providing related materials for heat sources in low income housing.
