Remote Senior Pascal Developer - Web Application Modernization Project

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Pascal Developer to join our team and contribute to a project aimed at modernizing and enhancing a marketing simulation system used by MBA students and professors. The project involves transitioning the student application from a Windows VCL platform to a web-based platform while retaining compatibility with the professor's VCL application. Your expertise in Pascal development and understanding of legacy codebases will be crucial to the project's success.
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze the existing Pascal codebase to understand the architecture and functionalities of the current VCL applications.
Identify key components and modules responsible for data formatting, transmission, and critical functionalities.
Collaborate with the project team to outline requirements and specifications for the web-based frontend and backend, ensuring compatibility with the existing VCL application.
Provide guidance on data formatting and transmission to maintain compatibility between the new web application and the professor's VCL application.
Work closely with the frontend and backend developers to ensure seamless integration between components.
Develop a detailed project plan, including task breakdown, milestones, and deadlines.
Document areas of the codebase that may require modification during the transition process.
Assist in identifying suitable file formats for the web application and develop strategies for converting and adapting existing data files.
Ensure data security during transmission between frontend, backend, and the E-Apps server.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in Pascal development, particularly with legacy codebases.
Strong understanding of Delphi Pascal and Windows VCL applications.
Demonstrated experience in analyzing and reviewing existing codebases.
Experience in developing web-based applications using modern technologies such as React.js and Node.js.
Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
Knowledge of data formatting and transmission to ensure compatibility with different systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address potential inconsistencies during the conversion process.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
Ability to document and communicate technical concepts effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in modernizing legacy systems or applications.
Familiarity with Agile methodology and iterative development approaches.
Experience in data conversion and adaptation for web applications.
Knowledge of data security best practices.
