Hand-Painted Realistic Oil Portrait
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a treasured old photograph that I want transformed into a genuine oil painting on canvas—no digital shortcuts, no prints, only brush-to-canvas craftsmanship. The finished piece should stay within a medium format (anything up to about 24x36 inches) and preserve the photo’s realistic look.
Please keep the original background, but feel free to extend or adjust it so the overall composition feels balanced and complete once translated to canvas. Color accuracy, lifelike skin tones, and faithful detail are important to me; subtle artistic interpretation is welcome if it enhances depth or lighting without drifting into abstraction or impressionism.
What I’ll provide: a high-resolution scan of the photograph plus any reference notes you need on colors that may have faded.
What I expect back:
• A hand-painted, fully dried, lightly varnished oil painting on stretched canvas.
• A quick snapshot of the work in progress once the under-painting is blocked in, so we can confirm likeness and background layout before final layers begin.
• Safe, reinforced packaging for shipment, with tracking.
I value clear communication about drying times, layer stages, and estimated shipping dates. If this aligns with your studio process, let’s discuss timing and any questions you have about the photo or color references.
