Coven & Ceiling Damage Repair
Budget: $400 – $700 AUD
Both my coven trim and the surrounding ceiling have suffered severe water-leak damage. I am looking for one skilled professional who can restore the decorative coven, repair or replace the affected plasterboard, treat any moisture-related issues, and leave the surface ready for paint in a single, tidy hand-over.
Scope of work
• Isolate and fix the source area of the leak so the repair stays dry.
• Remove all compromised material around the coven line and adjacent ceiling section.
• Rebuild the coven profile to match the existing style, using appropriate plaster or cornice compounds.
• Re-sheet, tape, set, and sand the ceiling patch seamlessly.
• Apply a stain-blocking primer so future discoloration does not bleed through.
• Leave the area paint-ready and free from dust or debris.
Acceptance criteria
– Repaired coven visually matches the untouched sections.
– Ceiling surface lies flat with no visible joints after priming.
– No residual dampness when checked with a moisture meter.
