Plush Toy Packaging Design
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
We are launching Moodzies, a new brand of plush characters designed to help children and adults recognize and express emotions. We are looking for a professional packaging designer to develop the concept, copy, and final print-ready files for our individual Moodzies boxes.
Each Moodzie will be packaged in an individual cardboard box with an open front window (no plastic blister). The box format is approximately 20 cm (H) × 15 cm (D) × 10 cm (W). The design must be clean, modern, educational, and non-infantilizing, suitable for children, teachers, therapists, and office environments.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Develop 1 cohesive box design concept (visual identity applied to packaging). Assume 3 box concepts will be provided before choosing final direction.
Integrate our existing Moodzies logo and characters (assets will be provided)
Design a vertical front window that showcases the plush inside
Create all bilingual content (French / English) for the packaging
(tagline, short educational text, descriptors) We will provide key material.
Include a dedicated area for a removable sticker (2 × 4 cm) used to identify the emotion (all boxes share the same design; only the sticker changes)
Ensure the design is print-ready and manufacturable
DELIVERABLES:
Final print-ready packaging files (AI or PDF, CMYK, bleed, dieline-ready)
Organized layers suitable for a packaging manufacturer
Fonts outlined or supplied
This is a fixed-price project with milestones.
Proposals must include a total project price and a breakdown per milestone
MILESTONES:
• Milestone 1 — Concept exploration (30–40%)
- 3 distinct box design concepts
- Front + one side view (flat or 3D)
- Uses your logo & characters
- No final copy required yet
- Goal: Select ONE direction
• Milestone 2 — Design refinement (30–40%)
- Refined version of selected concept
- Typography, layout, color system
- Draft bilingual text (FR / EN)
- Window shape & proportions finalized
- Goal: Lock the design
• Milestone 3 — Print-ready production files (20–30%)
- Print-ready files (AI / PDF)
- CMYK, bleed, dieline
- Fonts outlined or provided
- Manufacturer-ready package
- Goal: Ready to send to printer

• emotionally intelligent
• calm and reassuring
• professional and timeless
We are not looking for loud, cartoonish, or overly busy designs.
Experience with packaging design and print production is required. Please include relevant packaging samples in your proposal.
