Freelance Packaging Designer for EU-Compliant Cosmetic Products
Budget: £250 – £500 GBP
We are seeking an experienced packaging designer to support the development of legally compliant packaging for cosmetic products manufactured within the European Union. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet international labelling requirements, particularly those outlined in EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
Key Responsibilities:
Design packaging (jar labels & boxes) for 4 cosmetic products intended for international sale.
Ensure all required elements are present, including but not limited to:
-INCI list of ingredients
-Batch code and shelf life indicators
-Manufacturer/importer contact details
-Country of origin
-Warnings, claims, usage instructions
-Product volume/weight
-CE markings or recycling symbols where applicable
Collaborate with our internal product and legal team to review drafts and make adjustments.
Provide final print-ready files and packaging mock-ups for manufacturing.
Requirements:
-Proven experience in packaging design for cosmetic, skincare, or personal care products.
-Strong knowledge of European cosmetic labelling regulations and packaging standards.
-Portfolio showcasing similar work with EU-based manufacturers.
-Ability to deliver production-ready files (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent).
-Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to legal compliance in design.
-Fluent in English (French or German a plus but not required).
Bonus Skills:
-Experience working with sustainable packaging materials.
-Familiarity with digital product packaging (e.g. QR codes for traceability, e-labels).
-Understanding of multilingual packaging for international distribution.
