Job Description
● Database management of the Clearing applications utilizing MS SQL, Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, DB replication, etc.
● Expert on MS SQL Server and any other NoSQL DB like MongoDB, Cassandra, Document DB, etc.
● Have Basics understanding of Oracle DB, PostgreSQL and My SQL technologies (at least one)
● AWS SA Associate Certified or Azure Database Administrator Certified
● Extensive knowledge and be proficient in utilizing all features within SQL Server with a full understanding of feature differences between each version and Edition on the Cloud and licensing
● Analyze and optimize the operational environment; sustain capacity and performance requirements, consolidate and tune databases for optimal efficiency, maintain systems and platforms at 99% availability (outside of scheduled downtime), and ensure data integrity through performance of daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for monitoring of logs, space checks, audit reports and backups.
● Maintain and update the database architecture, including upgrading and installing databases.
● Provide recommendations on planned hardware OS and configuration upgrades /modifications on database servers to protect and verify data and database services are working.
● Monitor systems and platforms for availability; oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, fail-over, and the restoration and recovery using native DB utilities/tools as well as Cloud specific backup technologies like Recovery Vault, Snapshot, etc.
· Perform Database Major and minor Version upgrade
· Perform DB migration from On-Premise to Cloud or from one Cloud to another
· Perform activities associated with DMS/DMA
· Perform storage optimization, cost optimization, automate mundane tasks
· Work with the Client and other Teams to understand their requirements with respect to the DB and accordingly provide support
· Perform TDE for the MSSQL DB and other options available like SSL, OS level encryption, etc.
Requirements
● Experience working with both Linux and Windows servers required.
● Expert level in performance and query tuning
● Strong understanding of the architectural and operational complexities of solutions deployed within a MS SQL, Oracle DB ,MongoDB and My SQL technologies
● Has Managed Backups, Disaster Recovery and High Availability hands on
· The candidate should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
· Perform DB migration using DMS/DMA, backup recovery and all options including native tools, etc.
· Perform major version upgrade activities for PaaS and IaaS DB services
· Sound knowledge of Cloud DB services and hands on experience is a must
· Strong communication skills and Client interaction exposure is a must
