Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator who specializes in SAP OS/DB migrations, specifically utilizing Oracle as the source database. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle DataGuard, and Oracle GoldenGate. The role demands proficiency in complex OS and database migrations, ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and optimized performance throughout migration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute complex SAP OS/DB migrations, including migrations from Oracle to HANA, UNIX to Linux, Linux to Windows, and SQL to HANA.
• Utilize Oracle GoldenGate effectively for real-time data migration and replication.
• Manage Oracle RAC environments, ensuring high availability and performance optimization during migration processes.
• Implement and administer Oracle DataGuard for disaster recovery and data protection.
• Conduct comprehensive database installations, upgrades, patching, cloning, and system refreshes as required by SAP migration projects.
• Collaborate closely with SAP BASIS teams, infrastructure teams, and application stakeholders to deliver successful migration outcomes.
• Monitor database performance, perform proactive tuning, and troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
• Develop, test, and document backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans specific to migration projects.
• Maintain clear documentation of migration plans, procedures, and configurations.
• Provide post-migration support, ensuring database stability, integrity, and performance optimization.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience as an Oracle DBA, focusing on migrations in SAP environments.
• Extensive experience performing SAP OS/DB migrations with Oracle databases as the source.
• Proven expertise in Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) setup, configuration, and administration.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle DataGuard setup, administration, and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience using Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and real-time migrations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP landscape architecture, requirements, and best practices.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability database environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Oracle RAC/DataGuard certifications.
• Certification or extensive training in Oracle GoldenGate.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OCI) relevant to Oracle and SAP migrations.
• Experience documenting technical processes and leading knowledge transfer sessions.
