Microsoft Power BI Integration & Licensing Requirement

As discussed, hereby we listed down our current architecture, requirements, and queries on Microsoft Power BI / Integration with SAP environment.

Current Architecture (all servers on premise)

2. Microsoft Analysis for office
Requirement
1. Transformation of existing reports to Power BI
2. Develop new reports in Power BI
Queries
1. Types of licenses required from Microsoft to utilize Power BI
2. Connectors required from SAP and Microsoft for integration.
3. Is Power BI is Compatible with cloud or on premise?
4. Since we are connecting from SAP to 3rd party (Microsoft Power BI) and data read write operation occurs from both sides from SAP and Microsoft,
Do we need to obtain any separate license from SAP?
5. Integration of SAP ERP Central Component to Power BI possibilities from DB Level or application level possibilities or any additional tools required.
6. Data Load into Power BI frequency, delta data load possibilities / Near Real-time reporting possibilities.
7. Our requirement for reports will be to fetch data directly from ECC and BI to Power BI. (ECC to Power BI, SAP BI to Power BI)
8. Reports should be static for a few users (management) and dynamic for a few users (end users) so as to navigate parameters as required.
9. Server specs or Cloud for Microsoft Power BI / Minimum requirements / Ideal Recommendations.
10. Overview on Landscape (Connectivity for Data Transfer) / Environment (DEV/QAS/PRD) setup for changes, testing and deployment.
11. No of reports/dashboards - 30 no's.
12. Type of License requirement suggestions needed. Important features expected.
a. Scheduling of reports to deliver Daily/Weekly/Monthly to a group of users.
b. Alerts mail based on parameter values in specific reporting.
c. Department/Group of User-based security. (Restriction of content based on user group/user etc...)
d. Background scheduled data refresh and report should bring the latest data on opening.
e. Should able to access dashboards in Windows PC / Mac Books / iPad / Mobile (android/iOS) / tablets.
f. Seamless upgrade/deployment of latest report/dashboard designs to users centrally.
g. Broad classification of users 1. Developer/Admin 2. Business Analyst / Reporting 3. End Users consume reports.
