Job Description:
The Senior Devops Engineer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Drive the automation opportunities in the build, deployment, and release arena encompassing various technologies and tools. Designing and implementing workflows to automate the release and upgrade process for applications in Dev, UAT and Production environments.
Required Skills/Experience:
Experience in DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Urban Code deploy, Team city)
Strong Knowledge on Deployment Tools such as IBM UDeploy/Harness.IO.
Designing and implementing workflows to automate the release and upgrade process for applications in Dev, UAT and Production environments
Hands on support experience with automation skills. Strong experience in developing tools using third party products.
Experience in Hadoop, Netezza, Ocean, DB visualizer, Tectia, Oracle, SQL, Unix
Good SQL experience in any of the RDBMS. Programming Languages: UNIX shell scripting, Python / PERL
Experience with developing front-end screens using UX technologies - Java/JavaScript/NodeJS is preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems
Experience using/troubleshooting Office with emphasis on Word, Excel.
Knowledge of third-party tool like 3Forge/Elastic (ELK)/Splunk
3 -5 years of experience in performing DevOps role (Environment Provisioning, Continuous Deployment, Application Deployment and Orchestration)
Experience with Kafka, OpenShift, Elastic Search, Gemfire, Oraas, Autosys, Docker.
Experience in Dev Ops or systems analysis and programming of software applications.
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
