Retinal Camera Optical Design

OptoIntel is looking for a talented optical engineer ideally with prior experience in ophthalmology to help develop the front-end, free-space optics of a Retinal Camera. The optics should be capable of IR pupil tracking, IR retinal imaging and RGB retinal imaging and provide necessary illumination sources and fixation targets. The optics are expected to be mounted to a single stabilizing plate.
Cost and speed are the highest priorities so available off-the-shelf components will dictate flexible optical performance specifications such as field of view, resolution, diopter compensation, focus, refractive error, aberrations, etc. The project if broken into 2 phases expected to take 12-20 weeks to complete.
Requirements:
- Design a retinal camera for diagnostic purposes.
- Standalone operation; no need for compatibility with other imaging software.
Ideal Candidate:
- Expertise in optical engineering and medical imaging devices.
Project Deliverables:
- Technical design documentation.
- Proof of concept or prototype if possible.
