Optimize MZI Biosensor in COMSOL

Job ID: 40038363

Budget: ₹600 – ₹800 INR

I’m reproducing the Mach–Zehnder interferometer biosensor for tuberculosis detection from an existing research paper in COMSOL Multiphysics and now need an expert hand to push the design further. My priority is to boost sensitivity through two parallel tracks:

• Parameter optimisation – run targeted sweeps in COMSOL (Wave Optics module) to uncover the geometry, refractive-index contrast and operating wavelength that maximise the interferometric output for trace-level TB biorecognition.
• Structural adjustments – refine the waveguide layout and propose practical surface-modification strategies (e.g., functional-layer thickness, roughness) so the simulated device reflects fabrication realities without sacrificing optical performance.

I’ll share the original paper and my current .mph model. Your job is to return an updated COMSOL file with annotated studies plus a short technical memo (PDF or Word) comparing baseline vs. optimised results: sensitivity plots, key parameter tables and any fabrication-ready drawings.

Acceptance will be based on a demonstrable sensitivity gain over the published design and clear documentation of the changes you introduced.
