Multi-Wavelength Illumination System Development
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
>> Multi-wavelengths versatile illumination system for research purposes:
the system shall offer the following specifications:
- Illumination should be tunable between 20 to 30 monochromatic/narrowband colors
- All illumination colors shall be of tuneable intensity, with photon flux ranges similar for all colors
- Tunable illumination spotsize up to ~2cm² at working distance of around 30-40 cm
- The mechanical structure allows for the placement of different "flat-shaped" samples (small height compared to other dimensions) of area ranging from 1 cm² to 20x20 cm²
- Includes or should allow for a white broadband DC bias light with tuneable power (with a max above least 1 sun equivalent irradiance) and homogeneous illumination over 20x20 cm²
- Monochromatic signal must be AC-modulated (electrically or using a chopper)
- Monochromatic signal shall be monitored for power control (the system application involves precise knowledge of the illumination photon flux)
- Due to the AC modulation, the monitoring signal must be coupled to a lock-in amplifier
- Includes or can accommodate a second lock-in amplifier to extract the measurement signal (likely to be a photodiode photocurrent)
- Allows for the insertion of an optical fiber to collect light from the sample without perturbing the colored illumination
- The temperature of the illumination system shall be relatively managed to allow for minimal increase and its quick stabilisation
