Dental Loupe Lens System Design

I manufacture professional dental loupes and now need a specialist to engineer the next-generation optical system for our lineup. The core brief is straightforward: produce a 3×–5× magnifier that delivers a crisp, wide field and can be dialed through several power steps for adjustable magnification.

What I need from you
• A full lens prescription and layout—prismatic or Keplerian, whichever meets the performance targets—modelled in Zemax, Code V, or an equivalent ray-tracing package.
• Recommendations on glass types, coatings and lightweight housings so the finished loupe remains comfortable for all-day wear. An anti-reflective, easy-clean coating is strongly preferred.
• Tolerance, MTF and illumination analyses that prove the design holds spec when manufactured.
• Manufacturing drawings and a concise build guide so my tooling team can move straight to prototype.

Acceptance criteria
1. Continuous or stepped magnification across 3×–5× with negligible image shift.
2. Eye relief and entrance pupil sized for typical dental working distances (340–420 mm).
3. Edge-to-edge clarity ≥90 % of the field at 5×.
4. Total system weight compatible with lightweight titanium or polymer frames (≤45 g for optics + barrels).

If you have shipped similar loupe, microscope, binocular, or endoscope optics before, please include a brief note on what you delivered and which design tools you used. I will shortlist based on demonstrated optical engineering depth, not generic CAD skills.
